TAVISTOCK started strong with great passing and movement in the middle from Becky McMullin, Tania Coker and Eleanor Mills-Hicks supported by Kirsty Jones and Donna Hone on the wings.
The visitors scored an early goal with an excellent over pass from McMullin which went over the Activate defenders heads to which Gemma Small ran on to and slotted it into the left hand corner. Activate though equalised shortly after as Tavistock seemed to have briefly switched off.
Tavistock battled on with excellent defending from Carleigh Bammens, Laura Phillip, who made her comeback after a long term injury, and captain Chelsea Starbucks. Activate then scored to make it 2-1 to the home side. Unfortunately for Tavistock striker Robyn Hammond missed the opportunity to equalise with a one to one with the keeper.
In the second half Tavistock kept Activate in their own half but it was the home side who scored next to make it 3-1. Tavistock still battled hard and Tavistock’s midfielder McMullin did another superb pass over the Activate defence to Small, who shrugged off the defenders and put the ball in the back of the net to pull one back.
