Chagford 6
DESPITE recent outcomes, this result had been in the offing and showed Chagford’s true capabilities.
Reuben Sampson netted four goals (the second Chagford player to do so this season) and Robbie Miller and Ben Barkwill contributed a goal apiece.
A continuance of this teamwork, as Chagford seek to take advantage of their games in hand, will be needed.

Honiton Town thirds 2
IN going a goal down in just 39 seconds, Chagford faced an uphill climb from the start. Honiton bossed the next 15 minutes but the hosts’ passing game gradually brought them back into contention.
Indeed, had their finishing been a little more accurate parity may have been attained before Lawrence Taylor’s 26th minute equaliser.
Adam White, who fought hard continually, hit the home side’s second just before half-time and Nathan Hubble’s 44th minute strike, raised heads at a crucial time for the Moormen.
Chagford continued to press after the break but failed to progress until the hour mark. Darren Siwiec then worked himself into a shooting position before a tackle from behind brought him down for a penalty. Siwiec kept his head and tucked his shot into the bottom corner.
Leading by three and without any substitutes available, Chagford started to tire and Town got back into the match. Packer’s late penalty brought the visitors some hope but Chagford dug in and a Honiton sending-off helped see them through.
This was a gritty performance by Chagford.
