TWO players from Tavistock Community Football Club U18s have been selected to represent Devon FA under 16s this season.

Goalkeeper Toby Wilson, who attends Ivybridge College, and defender Sam Ablett, who goes to Tavistock College, have both just turned 16 and were chosen for county honours after going through a series of successful trials.

Both play for Tavistock CFC under 18s and were part of the team who won the DJM U16s Cup last season and also were Devon Cup U16s finalists.

The six-footers have previously played for Torquay United’s Academy — and Toby last season had trials with Cardiff City and Ipswich Town with the latter inviting him back again this season.  The pair are the only players Devon Junior and Minor League selected to represent Devon FA U16s this season — following a series of successful trials.

They will represent their county this season playing in the South West County Championships playing Dorset, Gwent, Wiltshire, Somerset and Berkshire. Their first match was on Sunday when they represented Devon in Poole against Dorset FA, with the Devon boys winning 1-0.
