OKEHAMPTON United Charity generously gave Okehampton Flyers Gym, Trampoline and DMT Club £15,000 towards new competition equipment for teaching advanced gymnastics.

The monies went towards a new AirPit, a new Olympic standard competition trampoline, as well as part-funding another top level competition trampoline.

Flyers’ head coach Vicki Pritchard told Times Sport: ‘The competition trampolines will enable our gymnasts to train on equipment they compete on and to reach a more advanced level. The AirPit is a new design of inflatable pit that is gaining more popularity than foam pits and will help our gymnasts learn advanced skills safely.

‘Everyone attending our trampolining, double mini trampolining, tumbling, general gym and pre-school sessions will benefit from using the equipment, as well as children attending OCRA holiday schemes and festivals.’

Since registering with British Gymnastics in 2017, among the club’s achievements have been 10 British Gymnastics national golds, three silvers and three bronze National Development Plan medals, 31 South West regional medals (including 17 gold) and a bronze in first national Spring Event Series.
