Bere Alston United 7
Launceston Reserves 3
A SWITCH from their normal home pitch Victoria Ground to Tavistock Community all weather pitch paid off dividends for Bere Alston United against the Clarets.
Dan Follett hit a cracker from 25 yards to get the ‘home’ side off to a perfect start and it was not much longer when an own goal by the visitors doubled their lead. A corner from Chris Bray was nodded in by Follett as Bere went into the break 3-0 up.
After the re-start Bere stretched their lead when Ben Backway made it four and five and six came courtesy from well taken goals from James Follett and James Eliot.
With 6-0 up Bere made a few substitutes and to Launceston’s credit they came back with a vengeance when Kevin Hatch hit a superb 25-yard volley and there were goals from Marius Pislaru and Dan Tilley to make it a more respectable 6-3.
However, Bere drew fresh breath to score the final goal when Backway ran from the halfway line to put away his second.
