WITH Bere Alston United finally getting a home fixture played on grass they were really looking forward to the game.

Their eagerness proved right as they soon stormed into a 2-0 lead with Chris Bray scoring both early goals.

Paignton side Roselands eventually got a foothold in the game and this paid off when, aided by poor defending from Bere Alston, they pulled one back.

Less than a minute later the home side restored their two goal advantage with a neat finish from Luke Edwards as Bere Alston ended the half 3-1 up and looked strong favourites for all three points.

But Bere Alston fell to pieces in the second half and let themselves down by allowing Roselands to score three goals and eventually lose the game 3-4.

Bere Alston United manager Will Westlake summed the game up: ‘The attitude from the lads was not acceptable at all and it must change if we’re to turn this season around.

‘I was really disappointed with this result and performance.’
