IT was a great night at the Red and Black Club on Saturday when an auction evening was held on behalf of Tavistock Community Football Club.

Organised by Kenny Mackenzie, the successful evening raised £4,745. The money raised will go a long way to paying for all the new kits that the teams, aged from eight upwards, have enjoyed this season.

Kenny said:?‘It was a fantastic night, which was a great fun social night with lots of laughs. I thank all those who supported the event in any way and the local businesses who rallied around to make it possible. We certainly plan to do another event like this next year.’

Earlier in the day Kenny’s wife, Nicky, along with Nic Moule, had organised a collection on behalf of Kit Aid.

They invited people to bring along old football boots and kit to help Kit Aid — a charity to provide football kit for children in poor parts of the world.
