Okehampton
Argyle 1
Cronies 2
SIMMONS Park saw a close game between Okehampton and Cronies who are currently second in the division.
Ben Bickle opened the scoring and also hit the post in a first half that could have seen Okehampton with a two or three-goal lead. They came to regret the missed chances as Cronies equalised in the second half and then scored the winner from a 90th minute free kick that the home players hotly disputed.
Overall it was a good performance against a team at the top end of the table.

WITH the surfaces drying off after the long winter the bobbly pitch did not suit Okehampton’s passing game and despite dominating possession Heavitree were not really troubled in the early exchanges.
The first goal came when Brad Ausden got brought down for a penalty and Toby Gostling sent the keeper the wrong way. Heavitree scored from a counter attack just before half time with their right winger slotting past James Williams in goal.
The second half followed the same pattern with Argyle having all the game with no rewards to show for it until Gostling scored a 30-yard screamer into the top corner.
Heavitree equalised when the referee gave a penalty for what the home team felt was a foul on Steve Kinsey. The resulting arguments saw Toby Gostling receiving a red card leaving Argyle to see out the draw with 10 men.

OKEHAMPTON Argyle Reserves slipped up in their race for the title, losing by three goals against Otterton.
Steve Madge was again casting his net around for players in the run up to the game and this time it did not work out quite as well.
Otterton have a tall team and played to their strengths with lots of crosses and high balls which Okehampton could not handle. The next game sees the visit of Thorverton to Simmons Park which will have a bearing on the title race.
