ORGANISERS of the first ever South West Fly Fair at Roadford Lake said it was a resounding success.

The event was hosted by South West Lakes Trust, who organised the fair in collaboration with the Westcountry Rivers Trust and The Angling Trust, with support from the Environment Agency.

The show was opened by Cornish angling celebrity and writer, Chris Ogborne and included casting demonstrations from the experts such as trout flies with Mike Weaver, salmon flies with Gary Champion, sea trout flies with Dave Pilkington and fly fishing guru, artist and writer, Charles Jardine.

There are already plans to repeat the event in 2014.
