IN division one of the Okehampton and District Table Tennis League Horrabridge A were at home against Bridestowe who could only field two players.

John Stewart put Horrabridge 1-0 ahead against Francis Griffiths who went on to win his last two singles and joined Mark Tancock in the doubles beating John and Bob Newcome to win the match 6-4.

The Mixtures played Anchorage A who went into a 2-0 lead. Colin Brooker and Malcolm Hopkins both scored maximums to help Anchorage to 8-2. Sarah Jackson did well to beat Colin Jones 11-6 in the fifth leg to save the whitewash.

In the next match North Wyke A played Milton Abbot. Xubo Chang beat Michael Blatchford to put North Wyke 1-0 ahead. Tim Westcott did well to bear Enrique Cancer Berotta to level at 1-1 and again did well to beat Xubo.

In the last singles Jill Whitley played well to beat both Tim and Ian Osborne. Enrique won his last two singles and joined Xubo in the doubles beating Tim and Ian for a 6-4 win for North Wyke.

Also in division one Okehampton A were at home to North Wyke. Okehampton raced into a 5-0 lead. Steve Tyler beat Mark Tooth in the first but Steve Madge had to pull out all the stops to beat Enrique just winning in the fifth leg 11-8. John Squire won the next against Mark and Steve Tyler won the fifth against Jill. In the next Enrique saved the whitewash beating John 12-10 in the fourth leg. Steve Tyler and Steve Madge both went on to score maximums and won the doubles for a convincing 9-1 win.

There was only one game in division two this week. Gunnislake were at home to Moretonhampstead. Moreton could only field two players due to sickness and holidays. Ken Underhill put Moreton 1-0 ahead against Michael Alexander in four legs but Brian Skilton took the second against Jack Flockton.

Michael Kinger lost the next against Ken who went on to complete a maximum as did Brian. Moreton won the doubles for a 7-3 win.
