A GROUP of Okehampton Running Club members took time off from their regular training session to run in the Exeter 10k collecting several UKA awards for the distance on this fast, flat course.

There was an unusual mode of transport from race headquarters to the start – a ferry ride over the river Exe!

Rob Kelly led the ORCs home with a time of 38 minutes 51 seconds to finish 26th overall and UKA silver, with Gavin Punchard close behind in 39.48 (gold), then Charlotte Radnor 48.57 (bronze), Marilyn Cooper 49.51 (gold) second FV55, Jo Camies 51.45 (bronze), Abby Metherell 51.45 and Heather Richards 53.28.

Adrian Kettle had high praise for the Salisbury 54321 Trial Marathon for the excellent organization and atmosphere. He chose the 30k race which he completed in a good 2.25.35 to finish in 19th overall place.
