A FOUR Ball Better Ball Men's Open competition was held at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday. There was excitement at the finish with the top four teams all ending with 44 points. First place was awarded to Johnny Rattenbury and Jack Cornwall; 2 Richard Johnson and Mark Curtis; 3 went to John and Steve Latham. The best visitor prize was won by S Davis and M Dark (Royal North Devon) with 42 points; 2 R Mallobone and S West (Portmore) with 40 points. The best combination prize was won by L Parry (Okehampton) and A Worthington (Exeter) with 42 points. On Wednesday the ladies' section played the monthly medal competition. The silver division was won by Cherry James with 75 points; 2 Sue Stanbury after count back with 78 points from; 3 Pam Jarman. Lynda Walker was the winner of the bronze division with 72 points; 2 with 73 points was Maggie Caws; 3 Janice Thwaites with 74 points.
