The Lamerton Point-to-Point was run last Sunday with good weather and owing to the drying wind the going was good to soft, so made for excellent competitive racing.

The first race was unfortunately a walkover for Ask The Lady whose owner Mrs Eileen Worth kindly donated the prize money to the Ukrainian Fund.

There were also buckets taken around during the afternoon for people to make donations. Local  Okehampton trainer Charlotte Rowe had a double with Highland Legend winning the Mares Maiden Race and Dartmoor Rose winning the Restricted Race.

John Heard also from Okehampton won the Maiden Race for geldings with Quintin’s Man and had a second in The Mixed Open Race with Eric The Third, which was won by the favourite Sykes. Which kept the punters happy.

Jockey Darren Andrews had a day to remember riding three winners during the afternoon.

The last race was The Exeter Races Intermediate race and the Exeter Races Clerk of the course Daniel Cooper presented the trophies to Arron Butterfield the owner, trainer and rider of Footloose.
