OKEHAMPTON girls and boys hockey teams played in the first round of the England Hockey U14s emerging clubs competition on Sunday in Penzance.
The girls had a tough first match against Penzance losing 4-0 but then came back and played some excellent hockey to draw with Exe 1-1. Penzance also proved too strong for the Okehampton boys, scoring six goals without reply. However, in their second game against Plymouth Marjons, the Oke boys went into a 2-0 lead at half-time, and held on in a close fought game to win 3-2.
