PETE Simm was back in the Okehampton goal as team captain Haydon Bond gave up his usual position for a chance to play up front.

Oke started off strong as the midfield formation of Brett Lawson, Lewis Day, Ed Howard and Sam Whalley kept the play in the opposing half battering the East Devon defence.

The home keeper was busy as shots were saved from Bond, Day and Simon Bourne, but persistance paid off for Okehampton. The first goal came from a Whalley short corner that Lawson hammered into the backboard.

The visitors became a bit complacent and East Devon took the opportunity for shots of theIr own, but they were expertly turned away by Simm and a goal line clearance from man of the match Mike Reynolds.

The Oke defensive line of Scott Bending, Jonny Aylen and Reynolds took the game back to East Devon and were rewarded as Whalley sneaked the ball through to Alex Emuss, who powered home Oke's second.

Okehampton were now in charge and a Whalley shot soared just high of the crossbar.

The Oke goal was little troubled in the closing stages as the visitors displayed their passing ability.
