A MIXED hockey team from Horrabridge Primary School took part in the Devon Winter Games in Torbay.

They were one of the teams representing West Devon, having qualified by winning the area tournament in Okehampton.

The teams were placed into three pools each containing five teams with the group winners and the best runner-up to progress to the semi-finals.

Horrabridge won their four group games: 6-0, 1-0, 4-1 and 3-0 and progressed to the semi-finals where they won 3-0, and moved forward to the final. Another tough contest awaited them, however, they managed to score the only goal of the game winning 1-0 and therefore being crowned Devon Champions. At the tournament they scored 46 goals and conceded only one — an excellent achievement by the team.

Horrabridge School hockey team are now double victors — having won both the area schools tournament and the Devon County competition.
