Plymouth University A 5

THIS was a very disappointing hockey match for Tavistock, in a game which looked, from the start, to be a home win. Tavistock started the brighter and were moving the ball around well and scored midway through the first half after some good interplay.

Plymouth Unversity equalised when a ball was struck into the D and took a minor nick from a Tavistoick stick which deflected the ball into the home side's net.

Tavistock started the stronger again after the whistle and after a flowing move Andrews struck the post. The students themselves took the lead again via a strange deflection that evaded the diving Osborne.

This goal seemed to have differing effects on both teams. Tavistock pushed up, feeling that they were still in the game and the space left in the midfield allowed the students to run riot! They dominated the pitch and were through in speedy succession and slotted a further three goals to take a big win with them back to Plymouth.
