His bout against the Swindon fighter was the penultimate of the evening and his supporters made it the loudest and most exciting of the night.
Newton’s bout was a six, three minute round contest with no title on the line but now he has a professional career every win is crucial.
The bell sounded for round one where instantly Newton took centre of the ring and dominated the first, landing the jab and working head and body. Beeden felt Newton’s power and instantly went on the back foot.

In the third the Bere Alston fighter looked in immaculate condition and still looking fit and strong, he continued his attacking style and stayed firmly on the front foot and was in complete control. At the end of the round Newton landed flush to Beeden’s chin only for the bell to intervene and save Beeden for yet another round.
In round four Beeden used his experience and made it hard for Newton to land clean and often.
Round five seemed to be Newton holding back slightly but in the final round he came out and straight away caught Beeden with a right hook and followed it up with a three punch combination. Beeden went down against the ropes and was counted.
Newton ran to the neutral corner and to his amazement Beeden was back on his feet. However, the Bere Alston fighter was given the verdict unanimously, not dropping a round and winning convincingly.
