THE British Heart Foundation charity received a welcome £200 boost after a Tavistock man completed a charity bike ride.

Dave Lashbrook joined 17,000 other cyclists in the 56 mile ride from London to Brighton on June 17.

It rained at the start in the capital and was windy on route but Dave pedalled on to complete the ride.

The 62 -year-old is now looking forward to his next charity cycle - the Manchester to Blackpool Midnight Ride, which takes place later in the year when the famous Blackpool illuminations are switched on. Dave will also be raising money for the BHF.
