Tavistock 8

North Devon 1

TAVISTOCK men’s first team knew a win in their final home game of the season would keep the chance of promotion in their own hands, ahead of their final game showdown with North Somerset.

The home side took an early lead thanks to front man Ollie Richards who continued his fine run of goals, Sam Blonden scored the second following some incisive passing out of defence and into the visitors’ D involving Chevin, Berry, Forshaw and Stanbury. However, the visitors pulled a goal back from a penalty corner shortly before the half time break.

The second half was completly dominated by the home side and in the end they ran out comfortable winners.

Dom Stanbury continued his impressive goal scoring form with a second half double.  Forward Bob Carr created space for himself to shoot on the backhand and with the keeper set and ready for the shot, the Tavistock front man cleverly passed instead to Richards, who instinctively spun to deflect the ball past the keeper. Further goals came from Mark Forshaw, Sam Willetts and Si Fenwick.
