TWENTY five young and old members of Tavistock Cricket Club braved torrential wind and rain on March 28 as part of the annual NatWest Cricket Force event.
The club has invested a lot of time and effort this off season installing new electrics throughout — a new boiler and showers in the home and away changing rooms as well as new seating in that area.
The volunteers scraped wallpaper, painted walls and ceilings, hoovered, cleaned, polished, prepared sight screens, removed rubbish, took down the winter fence and enjoyed bacon and sausage sandwiches.
With pre-season training for seniors and adults in full swing and the league matches fast approaching, things are looking good at Tavistock Cricket Club.
As soon as the weather allows, junior training is held on Friday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm with a barbecue, bar, TV, pool table and lots of fun and games.
