Devon D West seconds

Chelston and Kingskerswell v Whitchurch Wayfarers

WHITCHURCH seconds were struggling for players as they welcomed Chelston. They could only field 10 and this included two debutees.

The start of the game was delayed while sheep were cleared from the field. This may have distracted the visiting batsmen as Chelston slipped to 11-3. Andy Hall (2-19) and Nathan Ord doing the damage.

Waters (33) found a willing partner in Lawton as 30 was added for the fourth wicket.

Alex Rich then ripped out the middle order with 3-36. Alex also took three catches in a fine all around performance.

At 62-8, the writing was on the wall. However Webster (26) and Lewis frustrated the Whitchurch bowling. Webber eventually cleaned the tail up taking 2-2 as Chelston were all out for 97.

Credicott and Tamblin saw off the opening bowlers and began to make progress towards their target. Tamblin dropped anchor allowing Credicott to play his shots.

The Chelston bowling was accurate and threatening, but eventually Credicott found his form and completed a half century. With a couple more boundaries the 100 partnership was up and the match won. Credicott ending on 63 and Tamblin on 23.
