TEN plucky Whitchurch Wayfarers players crossed the moor to fulfil the fixture against runaway leaders Lustleigh.

The home side batted fist and made 439 for 3. Fulner made 204 before retiring and Jon Wright 104.

The three wickets were taken by Webber and Fynn Hall with two.

The Whitchurch reply was in tatters. Beauchamp with three and Chapman two saw the scoreboard read 0 runs for five wickets.

A huge cheer greeted Tamblin scoring the first run. He and Fynn Hall added 34 for the sixth wicket, until Hall was bowled for 14.

A batting point was secured as Mckenzie joined Tamblin and a further 34 was added. Tumbling top scored with 26.

Mckenzie (23) and Gill inched their side towards another batting point but it was not to be, as they were all out for 78.
