IPPLEPEN batted first and consistent batting throughout the order enabled them to accumulate 288 with Gerney reaching top score of 51.
Marc Lewis took two early wickets for the visitors, while Ryan Burke added three with his leg spinners.
This was a tough task for Tavistock, made more difficult with the loss of early wickets. Matt Puttock took up the challenge and scored a magnificent 102, helped by John McGahey with 27 and Phil Stephens 34 not out.
Tavistock managed a respectable 230-6 and maintained their mid-table position.
