IT was close but Tavistock seconds managed to keep their cool in the hot weather to overcome a stubborn Ivybridge side.
The visitors put 139 on the board with major contributions from S Kidd (46) and J Clough (27). The wickets were shared out among the Tavistock bowlers with W Downham (2-24), A Gauler 2-29), P Stephens (3-25) and R Burke 3-6).
The home side reached the moderate score but not without a scare.
Tavistock batsmen just crossed the line with a wicket to spare thanks to a 38 not out from R Burke and useful knocks from P Stephens (24) and W Downham (16) to edge past with 142-9. Ivybridge bowling figures were J Benson (4-28), J Kopparambil (3-8) and A Huxtable (2-28).
Tavistock earned 18 points to go fourth in the league.
