Devon seconds B
Tavistock on a disastrous run of six defeats went to Ivybridge on Saturday and needed an improved performance to ease any relegation fears.
Chris Monger, Josh Stephens, Rob Milligan and Dave Milligan were back to boost the side from first team duty. Tavistock batted first, Phil Bees and Josh Stephens helped the score along to 68 while Chris Monger and Rob Milligan further increased the score.
Milligan made 49 before being unluckily run out and then Callum Worth with 35 not out pushed the total along to 230. This was a very good total and ensured five batting points.
In reply Ivybridge were soon 47 for 4 with 12 year old Somerset Academy leg spinner Will Scott-Munden bowling superbly and taking 3 for 33.
Nobody got going for Ivybridge and Tavistock kept taking wickets at vital points.
Callum Worth, Mark Hopkins and Marc Webber all took two wickets each and Ivybridge were all out for 190 with Des Solomon being top score on 36. This was a much needed win for Tavistock.
