Topsham St James v

YELVERTON Bohemians kept up the pressure at the top of the league with a seven wicket victory away to Topsham St James.

After losing the toss and bowling first, Yelverton gave away a few early boundaries, with a hard, uneven outfield making ground fielding difficult and giving the batsman high value for their shots.

An early bowling change initially tightened thongs up and finally bought the first wicket, with Hadleigh Scott-Kirk (3-36) bowling opener Aiden Pring for 24, the score 51-1 off 14 overs. After this, wickets started to fall at regular intervals, with Pete Lojszczyk (2-22), Dan Cooper (1-29), Richard West (2-24) and Dan Farnham (1-17) contributing, the only resistence coming from Dan Armstrong, who scored a quickfire 35.

In reply, Yelverton started quickly with Dan Coper (24), and in particular Pat Hobbs who scored 18 off 15 balls. A couple of quick wickets then fell, before Rob Grove (34 not out) and Lojszczyk (81 not out) came together, playing sensibly to first rebuild and then accelerate the game away,

Yelverton reaching their total in 26.5 overs, and avenging the loss to Topsham earlier in the season.
