TAVISTOCK seconds won the toss and put Plymouth in to bat on a dry wicket in the warm sunshine.

The Plymouth openers appeared untroubled by the Tavistock opening attack of Puttock and Lewis, and reached 29 before a change of bowling brought havoc to the Plymouth batting.

Hopkins was introduced as first change and seemed to get much more from the wicket. He bowled a superb line and length spell and took an impressive seven wickets for seven runs from six overs, with James McGahey operating at the other end taking 2-23. Plymouth collapsed to 61 all out.

When Tavistock batted, Phil Stephens and Dave Watson handled the conditions well and cruised to the target in 13 overs, giving Tavistock 20 points and consolidating second place in the table.

Tavistock seconds beat Plymouth thirds by 10 wickets.
