Hatherleigh v Belstone

HATHERLEIGH hosted Belstone in a local clash that saw the hosts assert themselves at the top of the league against bottom-of-the-league Belstone.

The star batsman for the league leaders were Gareth Tidball (73) and Mattie Thomas (53) as Hatherleigh put together an innings to defend of 302-6.

Belstone put up a valiant fight to chase the Hatherleigh total, with a strong 45 fron Eddie Jones backed up by 38 from Sizmur, but it wasn’t enough as their batsmen fell for 204 all out.

The decisive win saw Hatherleigh retain their stranglehold at the top of the division and did no favours for Belstone, who now sit bottom of the league, a point behind Bideford/Littleham/Westward Ho! Cricket Club.
