THE Whitchurch Wayfarers Cricket Club celebrated a successful season at their recent presentation evening. The first XI had set themselves the goal of finishing in the top three of their division.

The Devon Cricket League are moving away from separate first and second XI divisions into an ‘all through’ format for 2018. Which league a team starts in 2018 depended on their final placing in 2017. A top three finish ensures that Whitchurch will start in a higher league next season.

The second XI also did well and finished fourth in their league.

 The awards for the year were as follows: First XI, batting and bowling, Josh Towl; captain’s player, Nick Barriball.

Second XI, batting and captain’s player, Martyn Credicott; bowling and fielder, Jason Webber; most improved, Tom Dunne; all rounder, Josh Towl; clubmen , Emma Hogg and Kathryn Gill.
