Bovey Tracey seconds v Bridestowe
BRIDESTOWE won on their first ever league visit to Bovey Tracey. The visitors won the toss and bowled first and soon had Bovey one down thanks to a sharp stumping from Mark Fogerty off Tom Boother (1-32).
Freddie Eyston (43) and Will Christophers (42) put on 83 for the second wicket before they were both dismissed by Alex Jopling (3-21).
Other than Derek Perry (44 not out), no one else in the Bovey innings made double figures as Ryan Dennis (2-21) and Gary Sizmur (3-43) picked up regular wickets.
Bovey finished on 164-9 from their 45 overs, denying Bridestowe maximum bowling points.
In the chase, Bridestowe lost Gary Sizmur (5) early to the bowling of Ben Steer (1-39).
James Ewen (53) and Ryan Dennis (56) piled on 125 for the second wicket, starting slowly and upping the run rate through the chase. Both eventually fell short of the victory to Dan Green (2-24) and Calum Stanley (1-29).
Despite this, the remaining runs were knocked off with a minimum of fuss, with four overs still remaining.
