Yelverton Bohemians v Exwick

YELVERTON Bohemians bounced back well from a disappointing defeat with a resounding 200 run victory over Exwick.

Batting first, Yelverton set off at a blistering pace going at six an over before opener Pat Hobbs departed for 20 off 11 balls. Yelverton continued to push on, before Richard Townsend departed lbw for 15. Captain Richard West joined Luke Julyan with the score on 65 off 17 overs, and they continued to push on before Julyan (27) was run out backing up after a strong straight drive was deflected on to the stumps by Ross Pascoe.

Pete Losczcyk joined West, and proceeded to launch into a furious attack on the Exwick bowlers, reaching his half century off 19 balls, before eventually falling for 77, including eight fours and five sixes. West continued the assault, joined by Anis Zubair (8), Geoff Brain (21) and Hadleigh Scott-Kirk (24 not out), before falling in the final over for 103 off 66 balls.

In reply, Exwick got off to a poor start with Losczcyk (2-23) and Sam Crompton (2-17) both picking up wickets in their opening overs, enjoying the extra bounce in the hard pitch.

The fall of wickets continued, and Exwick were 24-4 inside 8 overs, and then 53-7 with wickets for West (2-18) and Dan Keylcok (2-13). Resistance from Howard Rose (48) and Mark Priddle (24), frustrated the Yelverton bowlers before Pat Hobbs (2-5) had Priddle caught behind, and the final wickets fell soon after.
