Yelverton Bohemians v Topsham St James
YELVERTON Bohemians slipped up against Topsham St James in a low scoring affair at Langton Park.
Bowling first, Yelverton’s Peter Lojszczsk and Sam Crompton (0-8) kept things tight without a breakthrough; the introduction of Dan Keylock (4-24), supported by Richard West (2-14) and Dan Farnham on his debut (1-7) reduced Topsham to 85-8. A period of resistance from Topsham allowed them to reach 121 before Lojszczsk (2-24) returned to complete the innings in the 42nd over.
In reply, Yelverton could not have got off to a worse start with opener Pat Hobbs bowled first ball. After a small amount of resistence from Hadleigh Scott-Kirk (13) and Luke Julyan (6), a spell of accurate bowling and poor shot selection saw Yelverton collapsed to 60-8, the wickets shared between Ross Treleaven (4-33) and Mark Phillips (4-11).
Despite the best efforts from Keylock (27 not out) and Crompton (11), completing the only three Yelverton batsman to reach double figures, they were bowled out for 98.
