Bridestowe v Babbacombe

AFTER the toss on a soft but rapidly drying track Babbacombe decided to put the home into bat. Their decision looked vindicated as Bridestowe never could quite build on their score. Despite contributions from Phil Woods, 28, and Matt Dennis 23, the wickets fell regularly and the home side could only muster 137 all.

However, Bridestowe came fighting back and had the visitors in trouble at 28-4 with Sam Ewen and Chris Lavis taking two wickets apiece. A partnership between Steve Broad, 57, and Billy Allcock, 29 not out, swung the game for the South Devon side.
