OKEHAMPTON Otters Swimming and Lifesaving Club took six swimmers to Plymouth earlier this month, to compete in the Devon Sprints.

Taking part in a total of 24 races, the Otters achieved 11 personal bests and a third and fourth place finish.

Head coach, David Dennis told the Times that he felt that the Otters’ swimmers represented the club extremely well. The event was of a very high standard and all of the swimmers held their own.

David was especially pleased that, following a lot of hard work in training on turns, starts and stroke techniques, there were no disqualifications amongst the Otters’ swimmers.

The committee and coaches feel that all the participating swimmers deserve much praise and credit.
