EARLIER this month Cotehele Quay Gig Club were represented by seven crews to compete in the Rame Regatta. This was also an opportunity for non-racers to experience some sea rowing, as due to difficulties in towing gigs to Cawsands, instead CQGC towed the Cream of Cornwall to Mountbatten and rowed her from there to Cawsands. Rame regatta is always a popular event in a beautiful setting and 25 clubs were competing this year. The weather was blisteringly hot with barely a breeze making the racing tough for all the crews. Best results for Cotehele came from the junior crew who came seventh and the men's B crew who had a good race coming in ninth. The ladies' veterans came eighth despite being two boat lengths behind the start line at the start! Full results can be seen on the club's website at http://www.cqgc.org.uk">www.cqgc.org.uk
