OKEHAMPTON Tennis Club’s ladies A team travelled to Teign Valley for their fixture in division five of the Exeter and district League and came away with a 8-0 victory.

The Okehampton first pair, Jackie Jarvis and Angela Herod-Taylor, started well and were soon dominating play. They took the first set 6-1 and the second 6-0. In their second match their good form continued and they won 6-2, 6-0 although the score does not reflect the game. The opposition played well and forced deuces in several games. Angela and Jackie were delighted with another good performance.

The other Okehampton pairing of Kath Bolt and Beth Dennis also proved to be  a winning combination.

The pair took the first set 7-5, and the second 6-1. In their second match of the evening they won convincingly 6-1, 6-3. This 8-0 win puts Okehampton on the top of the league table.
