Petroc division two
Teign ladies thirds 1
Okehampton ladies seconds 4
OKEHAMPTON captain Nicky Stoneman organised a strong defensive formation that closed down all of Teign attempts in the first half.
Riding high with enthusiasm Oke's Rochelle Hillier hit the first shot on goal while midfielders Viv Weatherington and Ailsa Gibbs played imperative roles in setting up chances for the visitors and making moves into the attacking D.
Towards the end of thrilling first half Oke won a penalty corner, and Grace Thorpe tidily put the ball past the goalkeeper to give them the lead before the half time whistle.
In the second half Oke came out fighting but chance after chance saw the ball keep slipping past the goal. Then after a long spell of injury time Teign equalised. However this woke up Okehampton who won another penalty corner and Molly Petherbridge smashed the ball through the Teign defence.
A pass from Sandy Douglas to Hillier who passed to Molly, who played some beautiful one-twos with Weatherington sequentially eluded the goal keeper to put the visitors in the ascendency.
Okehampton pressed on into the D and Grace Thorpe dodged and dived the Teign players to finish the game off for the visitors.
Okehampton ladies seconds are at home to Dart ladies thirds on January 5 at 2.30pm.
