CONSERVATIVE C produced an inspired performance to take the spoils against a four man West Devon C in the Tavistock Snooker League this week. Roffey for the Con C was no match for Hodge, who continued his bright start to the season with another win. Back came the Con C thoug with another victory for Neale over Williams in a close one, as he also extended his winning start to the season. Pinkney pulled it level for the West Devon with a less than convincing win over Jago who made his opponent fight all the way to the end. In the decider it was Wilkinson who kept his head to edge out Shrimpton (senior) in a close but high scoring frame. Despite the depleted opposition this was a good showing from the lower placed team. Despite fielding one of their stronger sides, Conservative B showed obvious signs of missing the presence of Ewings as they ground out a close win over a solid West Devon D team. A rusty looking McKechnie found West Devon D's Shrimpton (junior) too hot to handle as Shrimpton stamped his authority with a 22 break along with further good scores. Con B responded with a robust captain's performance from Evans (junior) as he pulled his side level, with good steady match play. Back in front went West Devon D again as Hooper did enough with a win over a less than inspiring Monk. The next frame was a treat of attacking snooker as Dent for Con B applied his fast potting. Shoulders contributed well to the frame but 23 and 22 breaks for Dent proved to be the deciding factor. The deciding frame saw Lillicrap ground down an impressive Murton to take him on the black ball and steal it for the Con B.
