CONSERVATIVE A took advantage of a four man West Devon C team to produce a dominant display to come away with a maximum five points.

Williams of the West Devon was powerless to intervene as he witnessed Babb amass a huge score to join the 100 club with his 104 points; this was Babb starting to get back to his imperious best. Carruthers for the Cons was not to be outdone as he took Shrimpton (senior) apart with another display of flowing potting as he fell just short of the '100 club' with a superb 95. Elliott for the West Devon put up some brief resistance to Con's Longden but when unbeaten Longden 'clicked' there was never going to be any outcome other than a heavy defeat for Elliott as Longden piled on the points, reaching 86 before close.

Con's Evans was given a stiffer test with Pinkney proving again what a solid player he is. Ultimately though it was the assured confidence of Evans that pulled him away to yet another comfortable win for the Cons. Just reward for this Con display was a joint top of the table position with West Devon A with still a game in hand.

Con's skipper Jago kicked off proceedings with a getaway start from West Devon's Gilchrist who, after a long drawn out match, became the victor after some experienced snookers left Jago frustrated to say the least.

Then Con's new boy Weldon showed the way with some great potting against Roger Rich who was not up to his usual form. This gave Weldon his first ever league win which augurs well for the future.

Con's Neale looked to be on top of Hoar with a relaxed performance, but as the game progressed, Hoar came to the fore and took the required pink to win the frame which was obligingly left over the pocket by Neale.

Wilkinson for the Cons drew things level with a scrappy performance against John Rich who was not performing to his usual standard.

So it was down to the last and deciding frame which proved to be a bit of a 'comedy of errors' from both players. Roffey for the Cons had a little run on the balls but with West Devon's Smith playing some good safety, the frame and the evening drew to a close with Smith eventually edging it to provide the victory for his team.
