Okehampton 9

Penzance 2

AFTER losing only 3-2 to third placed Dart and giving them a really good hockey game Okehampton rediscovered some of their form as they ran out deserved winners against a weakened Penzance side.

The near two-hour drive up would have been less enjoyable on the way home after this display. A game, which saw nine cards and six of them yellows, shows how this tie was actually contested.

The visitors took a shock early lead but the hosts then began to run the show. Andy Strong equalised with a placed shot from the edge of the area before Leon Oxenham made it two. He then found Mark Parsons after a lovely six touch move before the away side pulled another back through their captain.

The hosts then dominated from half time scoring six without reply, mainly down to three excellent flying saves from keeper Andy Harvey.

Oxenham grabbed another three and Sam Whalley added two with Parsons getting another to wrap the scoring up.

Andy Paterson, Luke Liversidge and Jack Watson all came close to increasing the lead as the home side strolled to a comprehensive win.
