TAVISTOCK College Year 10 football, rugby and two netball teams all returned from Paris with trophies after representing the college with pride at this year's sports tour.

The rugby team collected the runners-up trophy in the shield final to add to the fair play award for sportsmanship. The standard of opposition was outstanding and the team gave everything to play to the standard they were facing.

Their success as replicated by the first of the college netball teams as they finished runners up in the second tier shield competition while the other team won the third tier plate event. Both netball teams played outstandingly and were congratulated by stars of the England netball team as they were presented with the trophies.

The football team played two games - drawing the first game 1-1 and winning 5-2 victory in the second.

PE teacher Ross Corkell said: 'We had a fantastic time and take away lots of memories! To add to the Sporting success, the pupils had many cultural and recreational visits, such as sightseeing, stadium tour, Disneyland and shopping.'
