TAVISTOCK College took more than 20 students to the Plymouth and West Devon Cross Country Champion-ships.

Conditions were made harder for the students as the weather was cold and the ground heavy. Nevertheless, there were some outstanding performances with four of the Tavistock runners qualifying for the Devon Championships with finishes in the top.

Those who quailified: Freya Hopkins, Year 7, who was fourth; Will Dax, Year 10, eighth running against Year 11s; Josh Blake, Year 10, 13th, running against Year 11s; Jenny Sabine, Year 10, 13th, running against sixth form girls.

Darcey Hepworth and Francesca Herdman finished 16th and 17th respectively against an older age group.
