TOP local sports coach Robin Brew is giving a talk on 'Sportive preparation' at the Guide Hall, Meadowlands car park on Thursday, May 3 at 7.30 pm.
Robin is well known as head of swimming at Kelly College but is also an international triathlete coach, former international swimmer and triathlete, accomplished cycle time trialist and Sportive performer. Sportives are cycling events, usually of between 50 and 120 miles, where participants are timed and awarded prizes according to their finishing times. The talk is organised by Tavistock Wheelers, who have more than 20 entered in the biggest local Sportive, the Dartmoor Classic. However entry to the talk is free and open to all those interested.
The Tavistock area has many cyclists, triathletes and indeed runners who enter Sportive events and would like to improve their performance. Robin will be providing tips on how to make all that effort pay off.
