TAVYSIDE Badminton is celebrating this week after passing the annual 'ClubMark' health check carried out by Badminton England.
ClubMark status is only awarded to 'a sports club that shows that the club provides the right environment which ensures the welfare of members and encourages everyone to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives'. In addition, an accredited club is recognised as a 'safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages' as well as helping parents and carers 'know that they're choosing the right club for their young people'.
Alongside its Monday Club Night Badminton Session, Tavyside Badminton runs a number of Junior Badminton coaching sessions on a Saturday morning starting at 9am. Any junior interested in trying out badminton is welcome. The first session is free and Tavyside Badminton has rackets which can be borrowed.
On Sunday mornings from 10am Tavistock Community Sports Centre runs a two hour 'No-Strings' badminton session to which players of all ages and abilities are welcome. The session is overseen by experienced Badminton England qualified coaches.
