TAVISTOCK Swimming Club had 23 swimmers qualify for the Devon County Championships held at Plymouth Life Centre.

This prestigious event was held over three weekends in January and February and drew top competitors from clubs throughout the county.  

Tavistock swimmers achieved 32 top ten positions which included seven medals - one gold, two silver, three bronze and two championship medals. Across the events, swimmers managed to achieve 48 personnel best times with nine of these resulting in club record times.

Head coach, James Lake, was poolside throughout the competition.

He said: ’I am so proud of these guys, another great county championship with a record number of qualifiers, including 10 new qualifiers this year. ’These swimmers work amazingly hard, putting in the effort, showing what can be done in the most competitive county.  Brilliant results for our little club, setting great examples.’
