TAVISTOCK Athletic Club runner Claire Pitcher is training hard this month for the Virgin London Marathon on April 22 to raise money for Help for Heroes.
Claire Pitcher, who is a chief inspector of the MOD Police at Devonport Naval Base in Plymouth, is appealing for sponsorship which will go towards funding the Personnel Recovery Centre being built in the naval base to treat service personnel with long-term rehabilitation needs due to combat and non-combat injuries or trauma. She is a keen road and cross country runner and this will be her first 26-mile run.
Claire said: 'Fundraising for this charity has really given me the extra incentive to train for London and has helped me to focus when the going has gets tough!
