Following an indifferent pre-season, both Chagford Football Club teams head into their competitive campaign this weekend, with East Devon Cup matches.
The club was pleased to retain the Steven Hill Memorial Cup, after they beat local rivals Moretonhampstead with goals from Adam Pidgeon (2) and Will Hutchison but not before the home side staged a late comeback. The first team travel to division four side Bampton and a potential banana skin as the hosts have ambitions for another promotion. The Reserves visit Beer Albion Reserves, of a division higher and will also need to be on their game.
John Pearce, assistant manager and a spokesman for the club, said:?'Chagford are also pleased to announce new sponsorships, from two local businesses, covering the expenses of new kits for both teams. 'Helpful Holidays' will display their logo on the first team strip of all blue, 'The Bike Fixer' logo will appear on the all red Reserve team kit.
In the current economic climate, this support is gratefully welcomed by players and staff alike.'
There are still opportunities open for further sponsorship and contact can be made through the club secretary on 01647 433897 or by visiting the club website on http://www.chagfordfc.com">www.chagfordfc.com where all fixtures are available too.
John added:?The club is also keen on signing new players and attracting volunteers, for various roles important in the daily running of a welcoming and friendly organisation.'
