KELLY College hosted Courtice Secondary School from Ontario, Canada, building on the friendships made when the Kelly rugby team toured Canada last summer.
The highlight was an afternoon of boys and girls rugby, with more than 40 Kelly pupils playing, including the girls' team who had been training for just four weeks.
Headmaster Dr Graham Hawley said: 'Sports, language and cultural tours are a terrific way to visit a different country and many of our pupils have enjoyed visits and exchanges over the years.
'I was therefore delighted to welcome Courtice to Kelly so that we could play a part in their UK tour. The Canadians were a delight: they played good, committed rugby and off the field they were outgoing and friendly'.
The matches were highly contested with the Kelly U16 boys' team emerging victorious at 27-7, and the Kelly girls' team, playing their first ever competitive fixture together, achieved a hugely creditable 10-10 draw.
