ON what was undoubtedly the best day for golf so far this year Hurdwick Golf Club held its first open meeting last Thursday. A closely fought competition from a field of members and guests alike resulted in the closest of finishes. Jack Main won the competition with a net 66. In second place, beaten by one point was Nathan Counter; third was Owen Cook. Everyone agreed the day was a resounding success and a special thanks to the bar and green keeping teams for all their hard work. The club now looks forward to many more events like this one and hope they are all played in the same friendly and competitive spirit.
